Four Puttenham Golf Club Lady members took part in the Macmillan Cancer Support Longest Day Golf Challenge to play 72 holes in one day and raise monies for the Charity. The top four highest fundraisers across the country would win a trip to Portugal with Boavista Resorts.
The Puttenham team not only managed to complete the 72 holes, starting at 5.40 am with the last putt dropping at 6.15 pm but raised an impressive £15,109. This put them into the top four in the country and they are off to the Boavista resort in Portugal at the end of the month.
Commenting on the win the team said ' We all love playing golf although 72 holes in one day was a little daunting but we had tremendous support from Puttenham Club members with people pushing our trolleys but also keeping us fed and watered to keep us going. Members were also very generous in sponsoring us as were local businesses and we would never have raised over £15,000 without everyone's support'
