The leading Order of Merit players and various Championship winners are invited to this final event of the year, the Surrey Masters, the event also counts as the final points scoring opportunity for the players and determines the final standings for the Order of Merit itself.
Past County President & past Chairman Roger Vincent started the players for their 18 holes on the New course at the fantastic Walton Heath Golf Club.
Today’s Masters competition was totally dominated by Hindhead’s David Corben with a fantastic round of 64, eight under par! Normally you would expect a three under par 69 to be good enough to take the trophy but not today, meaning that Edward Keep (Clandon Regis) and Jacob Aaholm (Reigate Hill) had to settle for 2nd and 3rd respectively, Edward just pipping Jacob on count-back.
For the Order of Merit, once the points were added, the final standings were;
Champion Jacob Aaholm (Reigate Hill)
Runner Up David Corben (Hindhead)
3rd Place Frankie Boylan (Woodcote Park)
4th Place Will Dugdale (Sunningdale)
Many congratulations to Jacob for retaining the Order of Merit that he won last year and congratulations to David Corben for his fantastic 64 to win the 2019 Masters.
Afterwards the players enjoyed some sandwiches and drinks before the presentation of the trophies and medals by Roger Vincent.
