Surrey Masters and Order of Merit Finale 2022

Each year the leading Men’s Order of Merit players and the various County Championship winners are invited to this final event of the year, the Surrey Masters, the event also counts as the final points scoring opportunity for the players and determines the final standings for the Order of Merit.

This the 2022 Masters, was twice postponed due to terrible weather in October and November last year.

County Chairman of Golf Committee & Board member Simon Crockett started the players for their 18 holes on the New Course at the fantastic Walton Heath Golf Club. Two County Rules Officials, David Sainsbury and Nigel Coase accompanied the players just in case any rulings were required.

Unlike last year the weather was exceedingly kind to us today. The course was in terrific condition, as it always is.

There was excellent golf played which was reflected in the scores submitted.

In the Masters, David Corben won with a very impressive five under par 67, closely followed in 2nd by Ben Palmer with a 68, and Will Dugdale 3rd with a 69.

For the Order of Merit, Will’s 3rd place gave him just enough points to overtake David Primrose (who unfortunately couldn’t play today) to win the Surrey Order of Merit.

There was excellent golf played which was reflected in the scores submitted.
